Card Controls

It is a RFID (Radio Frequency Identifier) enabled sticker used for vehicle identification. The tag has a micro chip embedded on it which is associated with the client’s fuel card. It reduces the cases where the card is run at a station at the absence of the vehicle.

The TotalEnergies Card extranet is an online tool where customers can access all card transaction and management reports. It can also be used for cancelling or blocking cards.

It is an embedded micro computer chip on the cards that holds the customers information and can be personalized to suit the customer’s needs and requirements.

All cards are created with a unique PIN code for the Chip which is known only by the user.

For organizations with a big fleet which is managed by different drivers at different times, a second PIN code is set – THE DRIVER CODE; which indentifies the person who runs the card at any one given time. Should the card be lost NO-ONE can use it unless they key in the driver code. The driver code also greatly mitigates against card misuse since driver can easily identified when involved in fraud.

It is an identification codes created specifically for a particular pump attendant at the station and it is NEVER shared, also called the SELLER CODE. The seller code ensures that for ALL the transactions, the pump attendant who runs the card is known and in the event of any queries, he or she will be answerable.

It is a pre-set monthly limit on a card as specified by the customer and the card cannot exceed the set parameters.

It is the maximum quantity of fuel that can be ran on the card at a time; it is equal to the vehicle’s fuel tank capacity.

These are days and products customized to a card. For example if a vehicle is based in Mombasa, the card can be customized to be used only in that region.

It is a time restriction set for a particular card. For example if an organization does not operate over the weekends or at night, the card will be set with the only required timings.

A card blocks automatically when a wrong Pin is entered 3 times. Unblocking can be done upon formal request by the customer. Card can be also blocked remotely without the card being brought to the office.

F13- Request code to be ran at station to update changes in card parameters including limits and geographical zones.

Codes

Opposition code 1 – Client account blacklist or account on stop supply
Opposition code 10 – Individual Card blacklisted
Opposition code 22 - –Account limit exceeded; especially where multiple cards are share a global account limit.
